| What someone would first notice about meeting Axel would be that he is selfish, sarcastic, and arrogant. Amazingly blunt, he has no problem speaking his mind, to whoever will listen. If there's something he wants to tell you, he probably won't hesitate. Also, his arrogance can be something of a bother for anyone talking to him, as he does appear to be rather full of himself. Confident and cocky, he can stroll into any situation with his head up and grin wide. On the note of him being selfish, Axel's philosophy is 'save yourself'. His pride has no issue leaving someone behind, or letting him simply run away. As long as he gets out alive, he doesn't care about pride or honor. It might be kind of harsh to say it, but there's no denying the fact he only cares about himself. Also, if it comes down to it, he'll go through whoever he has to, whether they're ally or not. Just because he's working with you doesn't mean he cares about you, and the truth of it his he probably honestly thinks he'd be better off without you. He's the type who prefers to work alone, and is fully confident in his ability to do so. Axel would never admit there's anything wrong. Truth be told, he'd rather die than admit he needs help. He hides his problems and dilemmas behind that grin of his and his sense of humor, trying to turn any situation around. Like his element, Axel is a hothead. A ticking bomb, it's not hard to set him off. Quick to anger, it is possible for him to throw aside the jokes and become all business. Not a pleasant person to deal with in the best of moods, this is a mood to watch out for. If he's an enemy to you, you'd be wise to watch your step. Not only is he a skilled fighter, he's also amazingly crafty. Alot of people make the mistake that's he's stupid, when he's quite the opposite. Though he's no scientist, he's got 'street smarts', and is able to worm his way out of almost any situation. One of his skills is he's an amazing talker. He can twist words against the most charismatic of opponents. Also, he's a fast thinker, quick to outwit any of his opponents. That's probably one of the reasons Axel appears so careless. His actions are often rash and in most cases, appear irrational. We shouldn't underestimate him, however, as somehow it all comes together in the end for him. Most of the time he reacts on pure instinct, and that instinct has gotten him through a number of close shaves. Sometimes, his rashness can take him to rather desperate measures. Axel's pride has no problem with him running away from a confrontation as long as it saves his own skin, but it also means he won't let nobody, I repeat, nobody have the pleasure of besting him. He'd sooner take himself out than let them get the bragging rights. Overall, it's safe to say he doesn't seem like a very nice guy on the surface. However, there are much deeper layers to him that give him quite a contrast, layers that are probably most important to really understanding him. It's rather shocking to find that, despite appearing calm and in control of himself, he can sometimes let his 'emotions' get the best of him. Deep down, Axel is a passionate being, always living on the edge, and enjoying the rush of the moment. Though he is overly selfish almost all of the time, there are times when he can be rather selfless. The masses don't mean a thing to him, but if there is even one person he cares for, he'll do almost anything for them. That one person will earn his undying loyalty and friendship, and if it came to it, he might even put them before himself (quite the feat for Axel). |
